Phakama Eastern Cape is a people-powered civic movement working alongside communities to build a stronger, more prosperous and more accountable Eastern Cape.

Established in September 2025, Phakama Eastern Cape brings together citizens, traditional leaders, government, educational institutions, business, faith-based organisations and civil society to identify challenges, build partnerships and implement practical solutions.

Working across the seven regions of the Eastern Cape, we promote ethical leadership, active citizenship, accountable governance and sustainable community development through collaboration rather than confrontation.

Although communities may mandate Phakama Eastern Cape to participate in democratic processes where appropriate, our identity remains that of a civic movement committed to serving communities before, during and beyond election cycles.
